REPLACING THE BATTERY

The clamp is powered by a 9 V alkaline battery
(type CEI 6LF22 - 6 LR61 and NED 1604). Refer-
ring to the figure left, use the following procedure to
replace the battery:
1 Unclamp the ammeter from any conductor,
and turn off by pressing the ON/OFF button.
2 Place the ammeter face down on a non-abra-
sive surface and completely loosen the two
rear panel screws with a screwdriver.
3 Grasp the bottom of the rear cover and lift free
of the case.
4 Disconnect the used battery.
5 Snap the battery connector leads to the
terminals of a new battery respecting polarity.
Carefully replace the battery in its compartment.
6 Replace the case-half by following the reverse
sequence to that used for dismantling.
Check that the lugs fit inside one another.
7 Screw home the two screws.

CLEANING AND STORAGE

Periodically wipe the case with a damp cloth and
detergent.
Do not use abrasives or solvents.
Open the clamp jaws and wipe the jaw faces with
a lightly oiled cloth.
Do not allow rust or corrosion to form on the jaw
faces.
If the ammeter is not to be used for periods of
longer than 60 days, remove the battery and store
it separately.
