carried out within too short an
interval and the thermometer did
not have enough time to restart.
The measuring distance is too
large.

Possible remedy
change the measuring mode
to "Body" according to the
instructions for use.
check the selected measuring
mode and change or adjust it if
necessary. If the measuring mode
has been set correctly, the object
to be measured may be too hot.
Make sure that the measurement
is not impaired by any obstacles
or moisture.
Make sure that no draught or
significant change in temperature
occurs while carrying out the
measurement.
Leave at least three (3) to
five (5) seconds between the
measurements; a 15-second
interval is recommended.
Repeat the measurements with the
recommended distance (approx.
3 - 5 cm, 1.2 to 2.0 in).
