(do not submerge the top, which houses the connections). For safety,
remember to first add the water and then the hydrochloric acid (HCl). It is
also possible to clean the cell with a pressure washer. Do not use a metal
scraper to remove any lime scale remaining on the plates.
YES
Cleaning process
The calcium deposits react with the hydrochloric acid to produce gas.
When gas ceases to be produced it means that all the lime has been
dissolved and the cell is completely clean. The cell now needs to be rinsed
in fresh water as soon as possible, as if it is left in HCl solution for longer the
cell could be damaged. Once the cleaning process has been completed,
the connections should be dried and the cell put back in place.
Note: Do not leave the cell in the acid solution for longer than five
minutes.
If the cell is operated without a flow of water gases could build up in
the filter. This could be very dangerous and may also cause serious
damage to the device.
In exceptional cases (high temperatures), if algae are seen forming,
run the filter for an additional three or four hours a day.
The filter must be run for long enough for all the water in the pool to be
filtered daily. The time this takes will depend on the hourly capacity of the
pump and filter. The following table can be used for guidance
