introducing excessive amounts of fuel.
Introduce fuel when the embers have
formed and the flame has lowered.
The stove is equipped with a bypass valve,
which, when opened, facilitates the escape of
smoke into the flue, minimising puffs of smoke
into the environment.
14.7 Forced draft adjustment
The stove is supplied with a valve for adjusting
the forced draft of the flue (Fig. 6.7).
It is preferable that the adjustment of
the forced draft is made by the installer
when the stove is being commissioned.
If the forced draft of the flue is optimal,
leave the valve open, if it is excessive
close it, making sure there is no smoke
in the room with the door open.
The nominal yield declared in kW of the
stove, is obtained by burning a correct
quantity of wood, being careful not to
overload the combustion chamber.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
To carry out the operations of cleaning, read
carefully all the instructions in this manual.
Maintenance operations must be performed
exclusively by qualified personnel authorised
to intervene on the product referred to in this
manual.
Before carrying out any cleaning and/
or maintenance operations, take the
following precautions:
• Make sure that all the parts of the
stove are cold.
• M a k e s u r e t h a t t h e a s h e s a r e
completely extinguished.
• Use personal protective equipment
provided for by Directive 89/391/EEC.
• Always use appropriate equipment for
maintenance.
• Once the maintenance or the repair
operations are completed, before re-
commissioning the stove, install again
all the protections and restart all the
safety devices.
15.1 Cleaning
The external part of the stove must only
be cleaned with a dry, non-abrasive cloth.
Do not use detergents.
15.1.1 Interal cleaning of the fire box
The stove requires simple but frequent and
thorough cleaning in order to always guarantee
efficient performance and regular operation.
•
Open the door;
•
remove any embers and ash from the fire
box with a metal scoop;
•
IKI 16:9/IKI 16:9 TF and IKI Square:
•
by using the cold handle provided, lift
and extract the base grille from where it
is positioned;
•
r e m o v e t h e a s h e s f r o m t h e a s h
compartment using an adequate ash
vacuum;
•
reposition the grille in its position;
•
IKI UP/IKI UP TF:
•
empty the ash drawer; to extract it, slide
it on the guides and then lift it;
•
close the door.
