Furthermore, via the "settings" menu, a path for a
backup can be given. With the backup you have the
opportunity to restore the SD card, should the data
have become corrupted.

After clicking "Check" and then "Verify & restore"
the download manager inspects the content of the
SD card. If a GarminDevice.xml is available and the
download manager can make the necessary data
available, you are forwarded to the next page on the
screen. If the download manager cannot restore the
SD card based on the information available, you are
prompted to give the FIN associated with the SD
card. You are then offered the last known software
and card status of the SD card in the download
manager.
