11. Maintenance and cleanup of the device

Caution: The work described in this chapter may only be performed by qualified
personnel.

Caution: The housing of the device can be cleaned with a moist cloth. Immediately
wipe of all liquids splashed on the device. Do not use solvents to clean the device.
11.1 Cleaning the flow cuvettes
The flow cuvettes should be rinsed with distilled water at the beginning and the end of every
series of measurements. If they are very dirty, then they should be rinsed out several times.
Empty the flow cuvettes, if not used or stored for a longer period of time by feeding air
through the cuvette. Hold the cuvette with the outlet nozzle pointing downwards at an angle
to empty it. It the cuvette is very dirty, then please follow the cleaning instructions from the
manufacturer of the flow cuvettes.
11.2 Cleaning the hoses

Caution: Remove the pump head after each use (section 11.3, point 4), to avoid
mechanical stress to the hoses. This is the only way to guarantee a long service life.

Warning: The hoses are exposed to chemicals and must be replaced every
12 months at a minimum.
