DHE/DHS MODELS
GENERAL
Wiring must be in accordance with the latest edition of the IEE wiring regulations or equivalent local standards.
The dryer must be earthed/grounded.
The DHS range of heat regenerative dryers require a fused 400V, 50/60Hz, 3 phase and neutral supply. The
dryer has an operational voltage tolerance of between +5% and -10%.
If the dryer electrical supply is via an external circuit breaker, ensure that a type C characteristic breaker is
fitted. This will avoid nuisance tripping occurring as a result of the high starting currents of the heaters.
Due consideration should be given to voltage drop when sizing electrical cables.
The range of dryers and their electrical ratings are shown below.

POWER CONSUMPTION OF HEAT REGENERATIVE DRYERS
#Note: the Full Load Amps value is the total of the three individual phase currents.
*Note: the power consumption is an average figure taken over one complete regeneration cycle where the
heaters are not energised for the entire period.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION (See Figure 5)
Open the control shroud (9 - Figure 2) and locate the Contactor Enclosure (See Figure 5 for general
appearance) and identify the Miniature Circuit Breaker (3) (MCB). Remove the MCB box cover.
Remove a blanking grommet from one of the shroud supports and feed the supply cable through and terminate
in the MCB box via the cable gland (2).
Connect the supply cable to the terminals (3) as shown in Figure 5.
If a bare earth wire is fitted a green/yellow insulating sleeve must be fitted.
Replace the MCB cover and tighten the gland (2) on the MCB box.
