Ci-30 KS S-30MP1 IS 15803:2008 AS/NZS 1716:2012 EN 13794:2002
It is allowed to perform routine repairs of SCSR on the mine. Routine repair includes: replace of
cover, replace of pictograms and reflecting labels.
It is recommended to store and register date and results of periodical inspections and routine
repairs of each SCSR in lamp room within service life of unit.
Service life is guaranteed only in case of regular performing of maintenance inspection and
service.

DISPOSAL

Used self-rescuers, expired, as well as self-rescuers unfit for further use must be disposed.
Disposal process is following:
Open self-rescuer.
Manually activate the starter, wait for 2 min up to all oxygen is emited.
Disconnect hose and breathing bag.
Remove the cartridge from the casing.
Place cartridge in clean water with tubes up and keep it there, shaking slightly until bubbles
stop to appear.
Neutralize the alkaline solution produced with 3% acid, for example, hydrochloric acid (HCl).
Sort out all the details and components by type of material (metal, plastic, resin, etc.) and
dispose of in accordance with the regulations applicable in your territory.
Record the disposal in the self-rescuer register.

Use safety glasses and gloves during disposal procedure.
WARNING!
Oxygen self-rescuers are subjects to obligatory disposal, and they should not be thrown away or left
underground.
SCSRs, decommissioned for disposal shall be placed in special dry storing room and kept at least
1 m away from heating devices.
Avoid contacts of decommissioned SCSRs with water, oil or organic liquids.
Storing room should be equipped with dry-powder fire extinguisher.
If a self-rescuer has mechanical damages as a result of a violation of safety rules (see the
«SAFETY PRECAUTIONS» section), you should immediately deliver the damaged self-rescuer to
the surface of the mine and immediately contact the manufacturer or official local representative
to obtain instructions for safe storage and recycling a self-rescuer. A self-rescuer that has received
mechanical damage must be issued an act indicating the number of the self-rescuer, the causes
of the damage and the persons responsible for violating the rules of safety rules.
WARNING!
In the presence of organic pollutants (including fuels and lubricants) damaged self-rescuers, in which
the oxygen-containing product has direct contact with the air, may be spontaneously ignite. Such self-
rescuers should be placed in a designated safe place, where they will be stored, and then disposed of in
accordance with the instructions from the manufacturer or the official local representative.
