Power Recliner with 6-Motor Massage & Heat
Batter y Backup Assembly Instructions:
WARNING
-- To reduce the risk of serious injury:
• In the event of a power failure the batter y backup provided may not
lift the user to a fully raised position.
• In the event of a power failure, if you require a lift to the fully raised
position or multiple lifts and recline, a batter y backup system may
be purchased separately. Contact your La-Z-Boy
information.
• Replace the Power Transformer batteries ever y six months and after
each power failure use.
Batter y Backup Assembly Instructions
In the event of a power failure the battery backup should return the user to the
seated position from a fully raised position or a full recline position, one time.
The Batter y Backup is located on the Power Transformer and uses two 9-volt
alkaline batteries (not included).
1. Unplug the Power Transformer from the electrical outlet.
2. Pull the connection caps with wires under the bridge on the Power
Transformer. Place the connection caps over the batter y terminals on each
batter y (F 1).

Troubleshooting for Luxur y-Lift
Power Recliners with 6-Motor Massage & Heat
There are no user maintenance or repair requirements. If the lift recliner does
not work:
1 Make sure the Power Transformer is plugged into an electrical outlet.
2. Make sure the electrical outlet is working. For example, make sure there are
no blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers.
3. Make sure all the connectors are secured; refer to the Assembly Instructions.
4. Make sure the electrical cords are not crimped or pinched. Make sure the
electric cord or plug is not damaged.
5. Make sure the operating capacity of 350 pounds has not been exceeded
and there is only one occupant in the chair.
If the lift recliner still does not operate properly, contact your dealer for
instructions on returning the chair for examination and repair. Except for
replacement of the Power Transformer, never attempt to make any repairs or
adjustments yourself.
Power Transformer Replacement
If the Power Transformer must be replaced:
1. Unplug the Power Transformer from the electrical outlet.
2. Locate the Power Transformer connection; refer to the Assembly Instructions.
Gently pull the connectors apart to disengage.
3. Push the replacement Power Transformer connector into the mating
connector; refer to the Assembly Instructions. Make sure the connectors
are secured with no gaps between them.
