Flowmeters must provide a square wave digital signal. They are powered by DATA-MATE at 12 VDC. Flowmeter 2 can be connected using the speed
sensor cable connection. The signal of flowmeter 1 can also be used for an auxiliary flowmeter (AUX cable - B) to be used for automatic filling or
automatic calibration of the tank.
The parameters to set up for each flowmeter are:
- Pulses: set the pulse/litre setting provided by the flowmeter's manufacturer;
AUTOCALIBRAZIONE
- Automatic calibration: prepare a known amount of liquid and press
ter, the SUPPLY UNDERWAY message appears. When all liquid has been supplied, press
of liquid handled by the flowmeter. DATA-MATE will automatically calculate the pulse/litre value and display it in the PULSE menu;
- Alarms: it is also possible to establish the minimum and maximum flow rate thresholds for the flowmeters. The parameter will start flashing and the
acoustic alarm will be activated when flow rate rises above or drops below the thresholds. In display mode, you can deactivate the acoustic alarm by
pressing
. The parameter in alarm condition will keep flashing until the corresponding value is within the permissible range;
- Sensitivity: by increasing this parameter, given as a %, you reduce the number of sampling operations used to calculate average flow rate. By set-
ting 100%, DATA-MATE calculates the average out of the pulses received in 400 ms. By setting 1%, DATA-MATE calculates the average value of the
last 15 recorded in 400 ms (6 s delay). the default setting is 50% (2.8 s delay for an average of seven 400 ms sampling operations);

The proximity sensor (NPN type) recording speed must provide a square wave digital signal. It is powered by DATA-MATE at 12 VDC. Average values
are calculated using signals received by the sensor in 100 ms and the signals received in the subsequent 100 ms. If no pulses are recorded in the
subsequent 100 ms, the signal will be ignored for 2 seconds at the most. In this case, DATA-MATE will display a speed of 0 km/h.
Parameters to set up are:
- Automatic calibration: this is a guided procedure for setting up the pulses/metre. Open AUTOMATIC CALIBRATION and press
When the sensor detects that the sprayer is moving, DATA-MATE will display the 'MACHINE MOVING' message. After covering a known and pre-
established distance, press
value. Cover a straight distance of at least 100 metres on soil of medium hardness with the tank 50% full of clean water;
- Pulses/metre: enter the known value or use this setting to ensure accurate regulation of the value recorded during automatic calibration;
