17. It must be avoided that the rope becomes slack while the hoisting gear is lowered.
18. With the stainless steel ropes of the hoisting gear and the fall arrest device sharp
edges must be avoided.
19. People and loads must not be transported together.
20. Standing under suspended loads is not allowed.
21. The hoisting cable must not be wrapped around the load.
22. During hoisting there must be direct or indirect visual and oral contact with the
hoisted person at all times. If the operator cannot see the movement of the load,
communication with a spotter must be guaranteed.
23. The DGUV [German Statutory Accident Insurance] rules V54 (BGV [Regulations of
the Employer's Liability Insurance Association] D8), 112-198 and 112-199 must be
observed.
24. The machine and its components must be inspected by an authorized expert
depending on the operating conditions, the maintenance intervals and the conditions
on site, however, at least once a year. The inspection must be documented in the
inspection log books provided for the components. The lifespan of the machine
depends on the regular inspection.
25. Whenever the fall arrest device or its recovery mechanism was activated, the device
must be inspected by an expert trained by the manufacturer.
26. The machine and its components can be used in temperatures of -30 to +50 °C.
27. The machine and its components must be protected from welding flames and welding
sparks, fire, acids, bases, solvents as well as extreme temperatures and similar
environmental influences.
28. Any changes or additions to the components of the machine can be fatal.
29. The lifespan of the machine and its components must be determined during the
yearly inspections. Depending on the operating conditions, it is approx. 10 years.
