7.5 Power failure backup

The Multimat C is equipped with a power failure backup.
This backup activates as soon as there is a mains power failure
in idle state or during a running firing program. If the downtime is
shorter than 60 seconds, the program will continue to run. At the
end of the program the following message appears: "F 10" (there
was a power failure).
If the downtime is longer than 60 seconds, the program will be
aborted and the message "F 10" is also displayed.

7.6 Testing the firing chamber temperature with the
silver test
Calibration set "Silver test, manual",
order no. D 03 532 803 (optional)
The temperature regulation accuracy is precisely set in the
factory. If at any time checking the firing chamber temperature
becomes necessary, you have the following possibility.
You require:
1 Dentsply sample carrier
1 piece of silver wire – diameter: 0.3, length: 37 mm.
Procedure:
• Thoroughly heat furnace for approx. 1 hour at 650°C.
• Place silver wire into Dentsply sample carrier.
• Enter the following data for the test program:
Preheating temperature
Drying time
Preheating time
Vacuum level
Vacuum time
Firing time
Cooling
Firing temperature
Temperature increase rate
• Open firing chamber and place sample carrier with the silver
wire centrally on the firing socket.
• Start test program.
• If after the test procedure the silver wire has started to melt
along its upper third, i.e. a melting bead has formed on the
surface of the wire, the temperature is exact to ± 2 °C.
• If the silver wire surface has not started to melt, then the firing
chamber temperature is too low. In this case, repeat the test
program – each time with a temperature increase of 3 °C –
until the required melting effect on the surface of the silver wire
is achieved.
• If the silver wire has melted altogether, then the firing chamber
temperature is too high. In this case, repeat the test program –
each time with a new length of silver wire and a temperature
reduction of 3 °C – until the required melt effect on the surface
of the silver wire is achieved.

If a deviation of the temperature from the theoretical value is
detected, it can be corrected as follows:
1. Press button "Menu".
2. Press button
to select sub-menu "Instrument parameters".
3. Confirm with button "E".
4. Press button
to select sub-menu "Service Code".
5. Enter code no. 6070.
6. Press button
to select sub-menu "Calibration offset".
7. Enter the desired correction value with the
buttons
(decrease value) and
8. Press sensor button "M" repeatedly until the program is
displayed again.
The correction of the firing chamber temperature is completed.
Increase chamber temperature
Reduce chamber temperature
Example:
An increase of the calibration offset by the value 3 means an
increase of the chamber temperature by approx. 3 °C.

7.7 Printer connection
(Multimat C Art. no. D 03.022.230 V)
Printing the firing protocols
Note:
For printer connection you will require:
1 x null-modem cable V 24, serial
with one male and one female connection,
9 pin female
25 pin male
Configure the printer according to the following parameters:
4800 baud / 8 bit / 1 stop bit / no parity
(increase value).
increase calibration offset
reduce calibration offset
