Assembly:
Assemble with a new muffler in reverse order.
Caution !
Please wear cotton gloves when installing the new
muffle, as to prevent sweat from the hands on the
quartz tube.
Warning !
Check that the wire ends are not in contact with
the metal mantle of the upper furnace section.
Shorten wire ends, if required. Reconnect protective con-
ductor to the cover !
9 Faults and remedies
The following information shall assist you in identifying and evaluating simple errors and to fix them by appropriate remedial action.
A fault report consists of a two-digit number with a leading "F".
This report is on the very left in the second display row.
If several reports are generated simultaneously, the others are saved internally.
After confirming the displayed report with the button "C", the current line, or the next information message, is displayed again.
Warning !
Always disconnect furnace from mains power before opening the housing.
Fault:
1. Display remains blank.

= Thermal el. ADC overflow.

Cause:
Mains fuse or transformer fuse faulty.
Display faulty.
Ventilation valve faulty.
Internal measurement error.
Lift switch misaligned or faulty.
Triac faulty.
Muffle or Triac faulty.
a. Missing cover plate over the control
element.
b. Extremely high standby temperature with
open firing chamber.
Vacuum system leaks, suction performance
of the pump too low or moisture in the firing
chamber insulation.
8.5 Replacing the control element
(trained personnel only)
1. Disconnect from main power.
2. Unmount workpiece placement area.
3. Unscrew both Phillips screws below the control element.
4. Unscrew both Phillips screws above the control element.
5. Swing control element outside.
6. Disconnect vacuum tube and all plug connections.
7. Disconnect thermal element.
8. Disconnect protective conductor from the control unit.
Installation of the new control unit is done in reverse order.
Remedy:
Disconnect from main power! Replace faulty fuses.
If the display remains blank, contact service technician.
Contact service technician.
If it happens repeatedly, contact service technician.
Contact service technician.
Contact service technician.
Replace muffle or contact service technician.
Remove power plug.
Allow furnace to cool for approx. 5 minutes.
a. Mount cover plate.
b. Keep furnace closed when not using it.
Restart furnace normally after the cooling time.
Start program with vacuum. Observe vacuum display while
vacuum pump is running.
a. Display "9" = large leak, check sealing capability of the
firing socket holder.
b. Values 09 – 01 = Check vacuum system.
c. Display between 99 hPa and theoretical value =
Check vacuum system.
If moisture has possibly entered the firing chamber
insulation, heat to 1000 °C, hold for 10 min. and switch
quick cooling on with opened firing chamber.
d. Check vacuum pump according to manufacturer's
instructions (change oil if required).
