Brake Shoe Wear

(Refer to the Safety Precautions on page 42.)
The rear brake is equipped with a brake wear
indicator.
When the brake is applied, an arrow (1) attached to
the brake arm (2) moves toward a reference mark
(3) on the brake panel (4). If the arrow aligns with
the reference mark on full application of the brake,
the brake shoes must be replaced.
See your Honda dealer for this service.
When the brake service is necessary, see your
Honda dealer. Use only genuine Honda parts or its
equivalent.

Battery

(Refer to the Safety Precautions on page 42.)
It is not necessary to check the battery electrolyte level
or add distilled water as the battery is a maintenance-
free (sealed) type. If your battery seems weak and/or
is leaking electrolyte (causing hard starting or other
electrical troubles), contact your Honda dealer.
NOTICE
Your battery is a maintenance-free type and can be
permanently damaged if the cap strip is removed.
W
!
arning
The battery gives off explosive hydrogen gas
during normal operation.
A spark or flame can cause the battery to explode
with enough force to kill or seriously hurt you.
Wear protective clothing and a face shield, or have
a skilled mechanic do the battery maintenance.
