Battery test procedures
When you initially connect analyzer AE5809 to the battery, it functions as a voltmeter until you press the ENTER button to start the battery
test. When you have pressed the ENTER button, the analyzer will assist you in setting the parameters of battery test. Scroll to each
parameter using the UP or DOWN ARROW button and press ENTER button to select.
1. Battery location: Scroll to and select OUT OF VEHICLE for a battery not connected to the vehicle or IN VEHICLE for a battery connected to
all electrical system in the vehicle.
2. Battery type: Select from normal battery, AGM or EFB.
3. Executive standard for battery: Use the UP or DOWN ARROW button to scroll to and select CCA, EN, IEC, SAE, DIN or JIS.

4. Rated values of battery Scroll to and select the rated values of battery.
5. Press the ENTER button to start the test.
Additional test parameters (if required) determined before or after charging:
In order to get more decisive results, the analyzer will ask if the battery is tested before or after charging. When the tested battery is
installed in a vehicle you just driven, select "Before charging". The analyzer will continue to perform test when you have selected it.
Temperature compensation:
If the analyzer detects that the temperature of the battery may affect the test results, it will ask if the battery temperature is above 0℃ .
The analyzer will continue to perform test when you have selected it.
If the analyzer displays an alarm message or other message after you press the ENTER button to start the test, refer to the "Troubleshooting
via test" section below.
Battery test results
If a test has completed, the display alternates between the battery test results and the message battery voltage, measured CCA and rated
value(s) of system. Meanwhile, the display alternates between the battery test results and the message PRESS FOR TO PRINT. In this cause,
press the ENTER button to print the test results. Because the in-built printer is powered by the tested battery, the battery voltage must be
at least 9V.

Note: If the REPLACE BATTERY is displayed after the test, there may be a poor connection between the vehicle cable and the battery. When
the battery cable has been disconnected from the battery, retest the battery and select OUT OF VEHICLE, and then decide if it is necessary
to replace the battery.

Use the battery as usual
Fully charge the battery and return it to service.
Fully charge and use the battery as usual. Note: Failure to fully charge the battery
before retesting may cause inaccurate results.
If CHARGE & RETEST appears again after fully charge the battery, replace the battery.
Replace the battery (refer to the instructions below).
A battery cell has fault, replace it.
