• Read the operating instructions before use.
• The pet feeder is not a toy for children. Do not let children play
with the packaging foil. Danger of suffocation!
• The feeder is only suitable for dry food (diameter 5 - 15 mm).
• Do not use it with puppies and kittens under 7 months.
• The base unit must not get wet - not dishwasher safe.
• Additional instructions for the use of IOT devices can be found at
the end of this manual.

Electric Shock Hazard!

• Incorrect use may result in electric shock.
• The mains voltage of the socket must match the specification on
the automatic feeder.
• Ideally, use an easily accessible socket so that you can quickly
disconnect the feeder from the mains if necessary.
• Do not use the feeder if there is visible damage to the appliance
or the mains cable or plug.
• Do not open the feeder, but contact our customer service.
• Do not use a timer or other remote control system.
• Never touch the mains plug with wet hands.
Safety
• The feeder is suitable for indoor use only.
• Place the feeder on a level surface. The feeder must be sufficiently
ventilated on all sides.
• Only use the feeder with the feed container and lid and do not place
anything on top of it.
• Never pull the mains plug out of the socket by the cable, always
grasp the mains plug.
• Do not use the power cord as a carrying handle.
• Keep the feeder and power plug away from open flames and heat.
• Route the power cord so that it does not become a tripping hazard.
• Do not kink the power cord or place it over sharp edges.
• Do not allow your pet to nibble on the feeder or cord. If necessary,
protect it with a cord protector.
• Never reach for an electrical appliance if it has fallen into the water.
In such a case, unplug the appliance immediately.
• Unplug the feeder when not in use or when cleaning it.
Preparation
1. Connect the feeder to a power source using the power plug. Turn on
the main switch on the bottom.
2. To control and program the feeder, download the „Tuya Smart" app
to your mobile phone or tablet. By scanning the QR code, you will be
taken directly to the download:

3. It is possible to connect a power bank to the TX9 Smart as an emer-
gency power supply. The programmed feeding times can thus be
guaranteed even in the event of a power failure. Please note that the
feeder is not accessible via the app in emergency mode.
Pairing the device
In the next step, the automatic feeder is connected to the internet
and paired with your smartphone. Please be sure to observe the
following instructions to ensure smooth pairing:
1. The automatic feeder should be placed near (max. 3 m away) your
WLAN router for the duration of the pairing process. At the same
time, your smartphone should be in the immediate range
(max. 1 m away) of the feeder.
2. Make sure that your smartphone is connected to the WLAN and
has a high signal strength.
3. There are two different pairing methods available to pair the device:
EZ mode and AP mode. EZ mode works only in pure 2.4 GHz
networks. AP mode, on the other hand, also works with modern
dual-band routers that broadcast 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz in parallel.
We recommend pairing in AP mode.
4. Please note that the feeder will not work in 5.0 GHz-only networks.
5. If your Wi-Fi password contains special characters, you may
experience problems during the pairing process. Change your
wireless password to contain only letters and numbers.
AP Mode (Recommended)
1. Press the SET button on the device 11 times quickly to activate AP
mode. An acoustic signal confirms the activation.
2. In the app, select ADD DEVICE and then select SECURITY & VIDEO
SURVEILLANCE under SMART CAMERA.
3. On the following page, select AP MODE from the drop-down menu
in the upper right corner. Then tap NEXT.
4. On the following page, enter your Wi-Fi credentials. Tap NEXT.
5. Tap CONNECT NOW and select the hotspot of the feeder from the
list of available Wi-Fi networks: SmartLife_XXXX.
6. Then tap the BACK arrow until you land back in the Tuya app. The
pairing process should now start automatically. If the pairing process
does not start automatically, tap „Confirm Hot Spot Next" at the
very bottom of the app.
7. The app will start the pairing process and should connect to the
feeder after a short wait.
8. Tap FINISH to go to the feeder's user interface.
EZ Mode (2.4 GHz only)
1. Reset the feeder by pressing and holding the SET button on the top
of the unit for 5 seconds. An audible signal will sound and after a few
seconds the green indicator light should begin to flash slowly.
2. In the app, select ADD DEVICE. Under SECURITY & VIDEO SURVEIL-
LANCE, locate the SMART CAMERA field.
3. On the following page, select EZ MODE from the drop-down menu
in the upper right-hand corner. Double check that the green indicator
light on the feeder is flashing. Confirm this and then tap NEXT.
