Filter replacement

aTTENTION!
Always wear face mask and gloves during filter
exchange/cleaning.
6.2.1

DuraFilter main filter

You must learn from experience when to replace the main
filter, since the lifespan of the filter strongly depends on the
welding process, the composition of the welding fumes, the
intensity of use and the humidity.
Replace the main filter:
- when the control light keeps blinking (shortly) after an offline
cleaning cycle; or
- when the airflow is reduced to the point that extraction
performance is no longer satisfactory; or
- when it has been damaged.
CauTION!
Be careful replacing the main filter; it is provided
with a precoat.
To replace the main filter proceed as follows.

Turn off the machine and disconnect it from the mains.

Spark arrester

Replace the spark arrester (Fig. 6.2B):
- when it is clogged or saturated and cannot be cleaned using
a vacuum cleaner; or
- when it has been damaged.
In case the spark arrester has been damaged, it is
recommended to also replace the main filter.
6.3
Emptying the dust tray
Dust and dirt particles from the main filter end up in the dust
tray underneath the machine. To avoid the dust tray to
overflow thus polluting the workshop, it needs to be emptied
on a regular basis. Refer to section 6.1 for the frequency of
emptying.
aTTENTION!
Always wear face mask and gloves during
emptying the dust tray.
waRNINg!
Never open the dust tray while the motor is
running.
Fig. 6.3
Loosen the star knob (B), which is accessible from the
underside at the back of the machine.
Carefully take out the dust tray (A).
The dust tray can be emptied in different ways:
- using an industrial vacuum cleaner (preferred way); or
- empty it in a plastic bag.
