Hydraulic Maintenance
When working on high-pressure systems, take care to
relieve line pressure slowly in order to prevent serious
injury to eyes or skin. Before repressurizing high-
pressure systems, ensure that connections are tight and
lines are not damaged and leaking.
Do not feel for high-pressure leaks with hands; wear
gloves or use an object such as piece of cardboard. High-pressure fluids are
capable of piercing skin or eye tissue, causing serious damage and poisoning.
If any fluid is injected into the skin it must be surgically
removed by a doctor who is familiar with this type of injury or
gangrene could result.
If injured by high-pressure fluids of any type, obtain medical
help immediately!
