Warning:
Before performing any maintenance or cleaning work, always perform the
following steps:
1.
Allow the engine to cool down.
2.
Set the height adjustment lever to the highest (transport, positive ground clearance)
position.
3.
Move the transport gear activation lever to transport position.
4.
Remove the spark plug cap.
Do not spray the unit with water. Ingress of water through the tank or the air filter will put
the engine out of service.
Use only manufacturer's recommended replacement parts and accessories.

CAUTION:
Water can damage the engine or contaminate the fuel system.
Wipe the deck with a brush and a dry or humid cloth.

CAUTION:
The engine air cleaner element must be serviced (cleaned) all three months. The foam ele-
ment must be serviced more regularly if the mower is used in dry dusty conditions.
1.
Press down the tabs on the side of the filter cover (fig.10a).
2.
Remove the cover.
3.
Unscrew the metal screw on the top of the filter element (fig. 10b).
4.
Wash the filter element in liquid detergent and water; allow the filter element to thor-
oughly air-dry. (Fig. 10b).
5.
Reinstall the filter.
6.
Close the filter cover. Make sure the fasteners are tight.

Do not use a water hose or high-pressure washer to clean the machine.
Do not allow dirt or dust to clog the air filter foam element.
Do not use gasoline!
