5.2. OPERATION

5.2.1. CAMERA OPERATION

To turn ON the camera unit, keep the ON/OFF switch (1) located at the front of the
camera pressed down for about 2 seconds.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE CHECK THAT YOU HAVE REMOVED THE LENS COVER
FROM THE CAMERA LENS (3). THEN MOVE THE CAMERA LENS (3) TO
FOCUS THE IMAGE.
This camera is provided with automatic infrared night vision. It is designed to allow
the camera to monitor in the dark or places with very poor light. In this mode, only
a black and white image can be seen on the monitor and only objects placed within
6ft/2m will be detected. The camera constantly monitors the light level by light
sensor (10) and switches to the infra-red mode automatically whenever there is
insufficient light for normal vision to avoid disturbing your sleeping child.
You may configure the following options in your camera:

5.2.1.1. Camera modes

By using the switch (12) the camera can be configured in two different transmission
modes: CAMERA or AUTO.
· CAMERA:
In this mode the camera transmits image and sound continuously, a useful function
for uninterrupted surveillance
· AUTO:
In this mode the camera is on standby and is only activated when a noise is
detected (subject to the sensibility of the programmed volume).
When you select the AUTO mode on the camera and there is no noise around the
camera (during around 20 seconds), it will stop transmitting and may appear to be
turned off but the listening function is still active, using the minimum amount of
power.
The monitor screen will go out of the monitor menu when the camera is not
transmitting. In addition, if "NIGHT MODE" has been selected on the photo frame,
the screen will automatically switch off in 3 minutes (please read "Day/Night Modes
section" for more information).
This mode is particularly useful at night as even though it is connected to the
monitor; no sound is emitted, helping you to sleep more easily.
Whenever a noise is detected the camera will resume the transmission of image
and sound.
