2.2. Principle of operation
once the flask with the liquid medium is placed in the process chamber
and the process starts, the device heats the content up to the defined
sterilization temperature, while maintaining the proper pressure inside the
chamber. then the medium is cooled down to temperature suitable for the
flask removal from the chamber. all effects relating to thermal sterilization
have the same character, like in the standard autoclave - the temperature
is the only sterilizing factor. However, in contrast to the autoclave or media
preparatory, the source of energy are microwaves what enables to heat
the medium in a fast way and evenly in the entire volume to sterilization
temperature of 135°c in 1.5-4.5 min, the duration depending on the flask
capacity.
2.3. Device components
The main view of the unit is shown in Fig. 1. The process chamber consti-
tutes the main element of the device. to open the chamber cover, rotate it
in an indicated direction and lift it up (see Fig. 2). The unit case is made of
aluminium, enameller steel and plastic materials.
3. INSTaLLaTION
the sterilizer cannot be installed in close proximity of a heating element or
flammable materials. the device is not to be installed in a damp, greasy or
dust-covered location, neither in a site with direct sunlight operation nor
water (rain) access. the sterilizer is not to be applied outside buildings. it is
forbidden to install it in location with gas leakage risk, neither it could be
installed on an uneven surface.
on the left side of the device, at the lower edge, the main switch is located.
Prior to the sterilizer start-up make sure that:
17
• the supply cable plug is inserted in the power socket with time-delay fuse
sized for 10 a current,
• the process chamber is empty.
Place the unit on a flat, steady surface, about 80 cm above the floor. the
surface load capacity should be sufficient to hold the sterilizer weight.
When installing the unit, it is necessary to provide adequate ventilation
space around the unit of at least 5 cm. the unit should be placed near a
spare wall socket, so there is no need to use an extension.
The unit is delivered with a power cord. For the safety reasons, if the power
cord is damaged, it could be replaced solely by the manufacturer or au-
thorized service agent. For your personal safety, plug the cord into a prop-
erly installed, according to the standard procedures, earthed socket.
4. STaRT-UP
It is recommended to read this instruction carefully prior to using
the Microjet unit.
DO NOT start the sterilization programme when the chamber is empty.
4.1. Power supply
once the unit is plugged to power
supply, put the unit "on" using the
switch, located down on the left. the
display will show: "Hello!"
