- Extract the tank (Fig. 10; pos. 1), position
the plug with relevant seals (Fig. 10; pos. 3)
screwing it in to the bottom and connect the
tank probe bypass cable in the appropriate tab
located on the tank support (Fig.10; pos. 2).
- Remove the plug with its seal (Fig. 11; pos.
2) and replace it with the water loading hose
(Fig. 11; pos. 1) supplied paying attention not
to damage and/or scratch any part of the ma-
chine.
For the connection to the water mains follow pa-
ragraph 4.2.2 of this manual.

4.3.2 MITICA "TOP-TANK" Mode

It is possible to restore the TANK mode by retur-
ning the machine to the original delivery mode by
acting as follows:
- Make sure that the water interception tap is
closed, that the machine is not connected to
the electricity mains and that is cold in all its
parts.
- Remove the water loading pipe (Fig. 11; pos.
1) and replace it with the relevant plug and
seal (Fig. 11; pos. 2), taking care not to da-
mage and/or scratch any part of the machine.
- Remove the plug with its seals (Fig. 10; pos.
3), disconnect the tank probe cable bypass
from the appropriate tab located on the tank
support (Fig.10; pos. 2) and place the tank
(Fig. 10; pos. 1) in its original position.
4.3.3 MITICA "TOP" Version - Pump
adjusting
After having transformed the machine, it is possi-
ble to vary the operating pressure, returning it to
9 bar (0.9 MPa) as calibrated at the factory, by
screwing or unscrewing the adjusting fitting pla-
ced in the lower part of the machine (Fig. 12;
pos. 1).
After carrying out the operations described in
sections 5.1 and 5.2 of this manual, proceed as
follows:
1 - Insert the filter-holder with a blind filter (Fig.
09; pos. 16) into its slot.
2 - Raise the coffee dispensing lever (Fig. 01; pos.
2) in a horizontal position, take note of the
pressure and return the coffee dispensing lever
(Fig. 01; pos. 2) in vertical position.
3 - Unscrew the locknut (Fig. 12; pos. 2).
4 - Screw the pump adjustment fitting (Fig. 12;
pos. 1) to increase the pressure or unscrew
to decrease it, performing no more than one
MOD.
complete turn at a time.
Repeat steps 2 and 4 until returning the pressure
exerted by the pump during dispensing to 9 bar
(0.9 MPA) or in any case between 8 and 10 bar
(0.8 and 1.0 MPa).
5 - Tighten the lock nut (Fig. 12; pos. 2).
Warning:
- Do not remove the filter holder with blind filter
when the machine is operating with lever lifted
in START position (Fig. 05).
- Do not adjust the pump pressure above 10.5
bar (1.05 MPa).
4.4 Version with digital temperature
control PID
The coffee machine with temperature control has
a digital temperature regulator which can adjust
the temperature from 80 °C to 100 °C. This ad-
justment allows the boiler pressure to be changed
from a minimum of 0.5 bar to a maximum of 1.7
bar.
Never raise the boiler temperature
above 100 °C. The subsequent in-
crease in pressure could trigger the
safety valve.

4.4.1 Heating the machine

Press the mains switch (Fig. 1; pos.1) to power the
machine; the temperature control display (Fig. 4;
pos. A) will display "OFF", i.e. the boiler heating
element is off.
To start heating the boiler, press the key (Fig.4-A; pos
B). The boiler temperature detected will be displayed.
A dot in the lower right corner of the display shows
that the heating element is on. (Fig 4-A; pos C).

4.4.2 Boiler temperature adjustment

Adjusting the boiler temperature is a personal
factor which depends on a number of variables,
such as external temperature, humidity, coffee
quality, etc. and is set in the factory to an average
temperature of 90 °C.
When the key (Fig 4-A; pos A) is pressed, the dis-
play shows PrG. When the key (Fig.4-A; pos B) is
pressed, the display shows the factory setting for
the boiler temperature, 90 °C 1 bar. You can now
change the temperature setting with the keys (Fig
4-A; pos A/B).
