- Página 7 Drill pilot holes using a 3 mm (1/8 in.) diameter drill bit. IMPORTANT: Be sure to drill into the center of the stud. IMPORTANT: Pilot holes must be drilled to a depth of 63.5 mm (2½ in.). Install the wall plate using lag bolts as illustrated.
