TRANSPORT AND
STORAGE
TRANSPORT THE GENERATOR
Always ensure that the engine's circuit breaker lever is in
position "O" before transporting the generator. Always keep
the generator in horizontal position.
[1]
[1]
Handle for transportation
According to EUROPEAN STANDARD EN 12601: 2010, carrying
the generating set is considered that a 140 kg set should be
provided with the means of carrying by 4 persons.
STORAGE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD
1. Check that the storage area is not too damp or dusty.
2. Drain the fuel:
- Turn the fuel valve OFF.
Remove and empty the
sediment cup [2].
- Turn the fuel valve ON. Drain
the fuel from the fuel tank
and collect it in a suitable
container.
- Reinstall the O-ring [3] and
securely tighten the sediment
cup [2].
- Drain the carburettor by
unscrewing the drain screw [4] and collecting the fuel in a
suitable container.
3. Replace the engine oil
(see page
4. Remove the spark plug and put a spoonful of clean engine oil
into the cylinder. Turn the engine slowly with the starter to
distribute the oil and bring the piston to the top dead center
(compression). In this position, the intake and exhaust valves
are closed.
NOTE: Environment protection: Contaminated petrol is a major
source of pollution for the environment. It is therefore strongly
recommended that it should be placed in a sealed container and
taken to a service station or waste disposal plant for recycling.
Petrol must not be disposed of along with household waste, poured
onto the ground, or poured into sewers or rainwater drains.
FUEL STORAGE
NOTE:
• Petrol will oxidize and deteriorate in storage.
Old petrol will cause hard starting, and it leaves gum deposits that
clog the fuel system. If the petrol in your engine deteriorates
during storage, you may need to have the carburetor and other
fuel system components serviced or replaced.
• Ensure that you use containers
or drums specifically designed
for hydrocarbons [5]. This will
prevent polluting the fuel
through the dissolution of the
container walls, which will lead
to poor functioning of the
engine.
