Calling up and running calibration
test routine
1. In the "Configuration" window, select the Calibra-
tion >> Rail pressure sensor menu option.
The "Rail pressure sensor calibration" window
opens.
The serial number and calibration date of the
reference pressure sensor are displayed in the
External pressure sensor field.
2. Remove the pressure sensor (see fig. 46, item 4)
from the feed connection to the high-pressure rail.
i
The pressure sensor must be zeroed out for ambient
pressure (atmospheric pressure), otherwise this will
cause the rail pressure sensor to be miscalibrated.
i
The pressure sensor can be zeroed as of software
version 4.35 and higher.
3. Zero out pressure sensor with <F3>.
4. Connect the pressure sensor (see fig. 46, item 4) to
the feed connection for the high-pressure rail. Tight-
ening torque: 20 - 30 Nm.
5. In the "Rail pressure sensor calibration" window,
press <F7>.
Pressure sensor calibration is now active.
i
Pressure sensor calibration can only be canceled by
closing the EPS 945 system software.
6. Press <F12> to continue.
7. Quit the menu by pressing <Esc>.
The system software reinitializes the devices.
8. In the "Injection component test main menu" start
screen select <F12>.

17. Call up the "Measurement display" window with
<F12>.
The "Attention" dialog box opens with the maxi-
mum speed.
18. Continue with <F12>.
The measurement display opens.
19. On the EPS control unit, switch on the converter
and the test oil pump (see Fig. 47, item 5).

Bleeding and conditioning
high-pressure rail
Prior to calibration, the high-pressure rail must be com-
pletely bled and conditioned. This involves running the
"Conditioning" test step for approx. 1 hour.
1. Call up the "Protocol" selection menu with <F2>.
2. Pick out the "Select test step" menu.
3. Select the "Conditioning" test step.
Continue with calibration after roughly 1 hour
(refer to Section 8.7). During this period perform
leak detection in the test oil chamber. Eliminate
any leaks found and continue with conditioning.
