Important Safe Operation Practices

Do Not Modify Engine
To avoid serious injury or death, do not modify engine in any way. Tampering with the
governor setting can lead to a runaway engine and cause it to operate at unsafe speeds.
Never tamper with factory setting of engine governor.
Notice Regarding Emissions
Engines which are certified to comply with California and federal EPA emission
regulations for SORE (Small Off Road Equipment) are certified to operate on regular
unleaded gasoline, and are certified to operate on regular unleaded gasoline, and may
include the following emission control systems: Engine Modification (EM), Oxidizing
Catalyst (OC), Secondary Air Injection (SAI) and Three Way Catalyst (TWC) if so
equipped.
Spark Arrestor
WARNING
product is not equipped and will be used around flam ma ble ma teri als or on land covered
with materials such as agricultural crops, forest, brush, grass or other similar items,
then an ap proved spark arrester must be installed and is legally required in the state of
California. It is a violation of California statutes section 130050 and/or sec tions 4442
and 4443 of the California Public Re sourc es Code, unless the engine is equipped with
a spark arrester, as defined in section 4442, and maintained in ef fec tive work ing order.
Spark arresters are also required on some U.S. For est Service land and may also be
legally required under other statutes and or di nanc es.
A spark arrestor for the muffler is available through your nearest engine authorized
service dealer.
