6.8 Calibration.
In order the measurements are precise, it's necessary to calibrate the conductivity
meter.
6.8.1 Sensor constant calibration.
In the course of time and use, the sensor «constant» as well as the TDS transfer
factor change their value. So they need a regular calibration.
6.8.1.1 Conductivity calibration standards selection.
According to the sensor constant value, select a calibration standards in accordan-
ce with the following table:
Sensor constant:
0.01 ... 0.1
1
5 ... 10
The procedure is as follows:
•
Connect the conductivity meter sensor. Temperature sensor switch off.
•
Standards must be at 25ºC.
•
Clean the sensor with distilled water.
•
Immerse the sensor in the standards.
•
If the sensor constant has not entered, see 6.7.1.
•
Push «
/C/T/S» or «
ner).
•
Push «ENTER». The absolute conductivity reading will appear (without tempe-
rature compensation).
•
Wait till the reading will be stable.
•
Push «ENTER» and «CA-M» will appear.
•
Push «
/C/T/S» or «
the conductivity standards.
•
Push «ENTER» to accept the entry. The equipment will re-calculate the cons-
tant value to adjust it to the standards.
•
The new constant value is shown in the display for 5 seconds. It comes out
automatically from the calibration menu.
6.8.2 TDS transfer coefficient calibration.
In the course of time and use, the TDS transfer factor change its value. So it needs
a regular calibration.
The procedure is as follows:
Connect the sensor to the conductivity meter. Temperature sensor switch off.
•
Set up for TDS measurements.
•
Standards must be at 25ºC.
•
Clean the sensor with distilled water.
•
Immerse the sensor in the standards.
•
If the sensor constant is not entered, see 6.7.2.
•
Push «
/C/T/S» or «
ner).
•
Push «ENTER». The absolute TDS reading will appear (without temperature
compensation).
•
Wait till the reading will be stable.
•
Push «ENTER». «CA-M» will appear.
•
Push «
/C/T/S» or «
the TDS standards.
•
Push «ENTER» to accept the entry. The equipment will re-calculate the TDS
transfer coefficient value to adjust it to the standards.
•
The new constant value is shown in the display for 5 seconds. It comes out
automatically from the calibration menu.
