6. BINDING A SOFT COVER BOOK
Before you begin, ensure that
• Τhere is glue in the applicator reservoir (Fastbind Hot-Melt Type 1)
• Τhe machine has reached operating temperature and hot melt in tank has been liquefi ed
(warm-up time is 20 min)
•
That you are using a soft cover nipping plate (marked with "S")
• Τhe turntable is in the normal position (the hand lever in N-position)
• Τhe paper guide is in place (either "S" or optional H-model)
CLAMPING
1. Release the clamp by pulling the clamp handle down and towards you.
2. Insert the cover between the clamp and turntable. It will slip in easily if you lift the turntable
slightly using the clamping handle. Align the cover with the paper guide. Place the cover so
that the front page faces turntable.
3. Carefully knock up and jog the pages that make up the book.
4. Place the book block between the cover and clamp. Adjust the block from the top and side
carefully to ensure that it aligns correctly with the cover.
