1. BULKHEAD SEAL STRIP INSTALLATION- Standard and RamBox beds
NOTE: Installations with a drop-in bed
liner will NOT require the bulkhead seal.
NOTE: Wipe the surface with isopropyl
alcohol before applying.
1.1
Remove the paper backing and apply
the seal strip to the top of the bulkhead.
Trim the ends to tightly fit to the sides
of the bed. Apply along the radius of
the bulkhead back edge (1).
NOTE: Pressure application is 4.5 lb
roller one pass back and forth.
NOTE: For RamBox Bed Rail installation refer to Step 4
2. RAIL INSTALLATION- Standard bed
NOTE: Installing the rails square to the
truck bed is the key to a successful
installation. Angle shims (2) are pre-installed
to the rails per application.
In the later installation steps continue to
check that the rails are level before
tightening.
2.1
Place the rail on the truck bed cap.
The slotted bracket will be in the front
toward the bulkhead. Check that the
rubber flap seal is flat on the bed cap (3).
Begin placing the clamps as shown in
the next steps.
Repeat on the other side.
NOTE: Do not disassemble the clamps,
loosen the bolts to allow the clamp to open.
3. RAIL CLAMP INSTALLATION- Standard bed
3.1
Slide the clamp up to capture the truck
bed rail and the cover rail. The nut faces
inside the truck bed (4). Tighten to hold
the clamps in place, one in the front, the
middle and back. Placement follows in
the next steps.
NOTE: When installing the rail clamps
make sure the clamp is inserted all the
way up into the rail, and the clamp teeth
are aligned to the rail slots to ensure
a secure grip.
