Requirements for the ESPE

ESPE that is used with the safe bus node UE4215 must always meet the following
requirements:
monitored PNP semiconductor outputs
detection of short-circuits to 24 V
detection of short-circuits between the outputs
The outputs must switch off for a period of at least 51 ms.
Do not connect any devices with outputs with contacts!
Devices with outputs with contacts, e.g. emergency stop pushbuttons, are not allowed to
be connected to the safe bus node UE4215, as they do not meet the stated safety
requirements.
ESPE that is used with the restart interlock function (reset button on the sensor) always
meet the requirements for the minimum switch off time.
ESPE with switch off times shorter than 51 ms are not recommended, as they restrict the
availability in the AS7interface safety monitor depending on the monitoring module set in
the safety monitor as follows:
With the "two-channel forced" setting, the safety monitor may switch to the error state.
To clear the error state, the power supply to the safety monitor must be interrupted.
With the "two-channel dependant" setting the safety monitor only permits the enable
after adequate switch off time. The enable can be achieved by triggering the ESPE for at
least 51 ms.
ESPE of control category 2 can be evaluated using the "two-channel independant"
monitoring module. In this case there are no limitations to be observed.

Requirements for the voltage supply AUX PWR

The power supply to the AUX PWR socket (black AS7interface cable) is only allowed to be
provided via
SELV networks
or
PELV networks

Examples of range of use

The following overview lists examples of several possible uses of the safe bus node
UE4215 in connection with various safety components:
Protecting hazardous points, e.g. with SICK C4000
Protecting hazardous points and access guarding, e.g. with SICK C2000/M2000
Area protection, e.g. with SICK S300, S3000
