K-3800, K-750, K-7500
Special procedure: only use the reverse direction (anti clockwise) to remove
tool from an obstruction. The cable is strongest when used in clockwise
direction. Cable may kink or break when used in reverse direction.
When the tool is blocked: let motor stop completely and tighten screw on
nose of machine so that if firmly catches cable to avoid kinks occurring inside
the drum. If you are using the autofeed push the lever in neutral position.
Continue manually until the tool is free.
Autofeed adjustment
K-750
Adjust setting for 5/8" or 3/4" (Fig. 5).
K-7500
Remove power feed, loosen bolts #1 and remove bolt #2 (Fig. 6a, b, c).
Insert 2 spacers for 5/8" cable (Fig. 7).
Installing replacement cable
Remove drum (Fig. 8, K-3800). Pull out cable and loosen cable bracket
(Fig. 9) to allow cable end to be taken from drum.
Installing cable

Remove E clips and remove inner drum (Fig. 10a, b). Insert 60 cm of cable
through guide tube and position under bracket. Reassemble inner drum and
E clip.
Installing replacement cable – K-750, K-7500
Retrieve end of cable from centre hole in carton. Connect to pigtail and check
the coupling is locked (see Fig. 11a).
Attaching tools
K-750, K-7500 – (see Fig. 11a).
K-3800 – (see Fig. 11b).
Maintenance
Drain cable drum after each use.
Periodically flush drum to clear debris.
Use sharp tools.
Replace worn or kinked cables.
Clean and grease all exposed moving parts.
After each use, hose out auto-feed assembly with water and lubricate with
lightweight machine oil.
For all other service and maintenance take machine to a RIDGID authorized
service center.
