FIRST START UP AND TEST
Once hydraulic and electrical installation of the softener has been completed, the system can be
started.
Proceed with the start up
• Slightly open the input valve to run water inside the softener.
• Keep the button start regeneration
• Fully open the input valve.
• Wait around 3 minutes, the time needed to rinse the resins (the colour of discharged water may range
from yellow to brown. This is due to new resin that gives water that colour).
• Proceed with regeneration phase by pressing and releasing at the same time the buttons SET
and UP and wait for the camshaft in the back of the programmer to stop moving.
During the camshaft movement, a sundial will appear on the display. Once the camshaft reaches
the next stage, C2 will appear on the bottom left of the display and the sundial will disappear.
N.B. During the camshaft movement do not press any button.
• Proceed with the current stage of the softener as described above, by pressing and then releasing
the buttons SET
Before moving to the next stage, always wait for the camshaft to stop.
During the wait between one cycle and the other, the symbols C4 – C5 – C6 – C7 will appear.
• When you reach phase C7, leave the softener in this phase and wait for the natural end of
regeneration, which varies according to the installed softener model.
Anyhow the display will always show the minutes left until the end of regeneration.
• Once the last phase C8 is completed, when water is sent to the salt container, the display will show
the set time alternating with the water cubic meters available before the next regeneration, which
will take place automatically at the set time.
• Fully open the softener output valve and fully close the by-pass valve.
• Fill the container with food sea salt, possibly high quality salt or tablet salt.
• Last test the outgoing hardness and take it to the desired parameters.
IMPORTANT
During start up and testing phase, there may be unusual noise or vibrations due to the
presence of air inside the softener, which are normal during this first process.
