• Mold the screw insert into the socket at a desired location.
• Fasten the handle to the socket with the screw and collar washer.
• Thread release cable through plastic tube (if used) and metal fastener
on distal end.
• Thread release cable through extension spring end and back through
the metal fastener (Figure 5).
• Clip the snap spring in the lock piece as shown (Figure 6).
• Shorten the release cable to the length that suits the user in the
locked position.
• Crimp both metal fasteners by pliers or pinch the center with a punch
and mallet.
• Ensure that the release cable is not impaired.
• Verify correct locking and release function.
Selectable lock settings
• Break off the small stop in the center of the release handle (Figure 7).
• User can select between default on or default off positions of the lock.
• IMPORTANT: Make sure the user understands the difference between
the two settings and how to operate the handle.

STATIC ALIGNMENT

• Perform adjustments between parallel bars.
• Check for correct prosthesis length.
• Make sure foot is flat on the floor, knee is in neutral position and
socket angles are correct.
PRODUCT ADJUSTMENT AND USER TRAINING
Explain the function of the load-dependent brake to the user.
Dynamic alignment / Level ground walking
Before walking ask the user to offload the knee and release the knee
brake and flex the knee a few times to experience the brake function.
Brake sensitivity (Figure 8)
The knee brake mechanism has a factory setting suitable for most users.
Verify the activation of the stance brake.
Factory setting: Unscrew and tighten until a slight resistance is felt. Then
tighten further half turn.
Extension assist setting (Figure 9):
• Right turn: Increases extension assist.
• Left turn: Decreases extension assist.
Factory setting: three moves from max extension assist
Brake play adjustment (Figure 10):
• Clockwise: Play is reduced. Only a small adjustment is required.
• Tighten until a slight resistance is felt. Over tightening will cause
excessive swing friction.
• Counterclockwise: Brake pre-tension is reduced.
Adjust brake sensitivity as required after adjusting brake play.
Factory setting: Tighten screw until slight resistance is felt, then unscrew
1/8 turn.
Stair descent/ascent.
For safety reasons negotiate stairs with a fully extended knee.
