The operation of a medical vacuum plant requires a power supply system to ensure the operation and safety
of the installation. In order to avoid the total loss of medical vacuum generation on, for example, a differential
disconnection due to a component grounding, two separate electric power supplies with a separate
differential protection system, distributed between the motors, are installed.

The wire sections are given for information to 5A / mm
Even so, the sections shall be defined by taking contacts with the wire provider.
They depend:
of the wire type
of the length
of the room temperature
of the wire path
Alarm report
The connection between Alarm report on automate units must be done by the person in charge of the
installation. He must control the compliance wiring and proper operation during the final acceptance test.
7.3. Connections to the pneumatic network
Suction side
For MINIVAC units, the network alarm sensor C2V is available as an option.
Connect the anti-bacteria filtration inlet to the network using rigid piping or hose. A valve must be fitted
between the hose or the rigid piping and the network (see the mechanical architecture section).

Exhaust side
The exhaust collector must be connected to a gas evacuation canalization, which leads to the outside of the
building, either via the façade or vertical duct (standard NF EN ISO 7396-1§ 5-7-8).
Beware of rainfall penetration or blockages caused by nests or other obstacles.

COMMISSIONING
1.5
MINIVAC vacuum plants are used only for suction of non-aggressive gas, with less than 22%
4
of oxygen gas.
It is not recommended to use MINIVAC vacuum plants to exhaust anaesthetic gas (AGSS
system) with the risk of self-ignition.
2.5
IMPORTANT: Mechanical vacuum switches having relative value measurements are used
10
(for all types of regulation) or sensors (MILLENIUM), and set taking the altitude at which
2.5
they are installed into account. For details on this procedure, refer to the § 5.
10
8.1. First steps – Advice prior to commissioning the vacuum pumps
4
Read the attached vacuum pump start-up and maintenance manual prior to starting up the equipment.
16
Set the general switches GS (red/yellow knob) to O (Off).
4
Set the On/Off switches of all the pumps to O (Off).
16
8.2. Switching on
Open the main receiver bleed valve and shut off the network outlet valve.
Set the main switches (MS) to I (On): all vacuum pumps start.
Immediately check the direction of rotation of pumps. An arrow affixed to the pump indicates the correct
direction of rotation. If turning in the wrong direction, immediately stop the unit using the main switches
(MS) and inverse the power supply wires.
Close the main receivers bleed valve and open the network outlet valve.
Position the main switch of the unit to On (I) and the unit will start up resulting in a steady increase of the
depression within the network. Check all connections for leaks.
To check that the chosen set up is operating correctly:
Isolate the system from the network by closing the outlet valve,
Induce a controlled leak by partially opening the bleed valve of the main receiver.
Once this check has been carried out, make sure the bleed valve is properly closed and open the network
outlet valve.
For more detailed information concerning the control mode, consult the PROCOM-2 or CYCLIC 2020 or
MILLENIUM manual.
