Preparation - Cleaning adhesive
surfaces

• The vehicle may not have been Nano sealed.

The trim foil will not adhere to Nano sealing treatments,

waxed surfaces or similar surface sealing treatments.

- Thoroughly wash assembly surfaces including edges,
swage lines, recesses, cracks etc. Do not use waxes or
1
similar additives.

- Dry assembly surfaces.
- Remove stickers, adhesive labels and adhesive
1 *
residues.

- Remove insect residues using insect

cleaner 00A.096.300.
- Remove remains of wax or similar sealing treatments
using activated foam cleaner 00A.096.301.
- Repair/remove paint damage, as necessary (observe
drying and curing periods).
- Thoroughly degrease assembly surfaces with a
cleaning cloth.
- Allow assembly surfaces to air dry for 5 minutes.
- To protect trim foil during assembly, wrap squeegee
with a soft lint-free cloth.
Positioning and applying foil
• Working temperature 15 - 30° C.
• No direct sunlight (the vehicle may not be heated by
the sun).
• Remove liner from trim foil only immediately before
installation.
• Ensure during the wet assembly process that the trim
foil does not dry out in areas still to be applied.
The foil can electrically charge during removal of the

protective backing.
No fl uffy clothing should be worn during assembly
♦
procedures.
Open long hair should be tied back or wear a hat/hair
♦
net.
