Assembly and preparation

Fitting the blade and chain
Pull the protective shield (5) in the direction
of the front handle to ensure the chain brake
is not activated.
Turn the fi nger screw (2) to the unlocked
padlock symbol and lift the cover (1) off .
Place the saw chain (14) around the blade
(13). Make sure that the teeth point in the
direction of rotation.
Tighten the saw chain so that its link engages
in the groove on the blade, forming a loop
behind the blade.
Place the saw chain around the chain wheel
(11) and place the blade down against the
chainsaw so that the control bolt (9) goes
into the oblong grove on the side of the
blade. Fit the chain tensioner (10).
Put the cover (1) in place and turn the fi nger
screw (2) to the locked padlock symbol to
tighten it securely.
Tensioning the chain
The tightness of the chain can be adjusted
without using a tool.
Turn the fi nger screw (2) 1-2 turns
anticlockwise to loosen it.
Turn the SDS knob clockwise until the saw
chain is tightened correctly.
It should be possible to lift the saw chain
approximately 3 mm from the blade at the
middle of the blade. It should spring back
when released. The saw chain must not be
hanging down beneath the blade.
