Installing the EBC240
Avaya EBC240 Site Preparation, Installation and Operator's Manual
Installation
The following sections describe the installation of the 240 Vdc Extended
Battery Cabinet.
If any equipment has been damaged during shipment, keep the shipping
cartons and packing materials for the carrier or place of purchase and file
a claim for shipping damage. If you discover damage after acceptance,
file a claim for concealed damage.
NOTE Check the battery recharge date on the shipping carton label. If the date has expired
and the batteries were never recharged, do not use the EBC240. Contact your Avaya service
representative.
This unit is intended to be used without any other types of batteries. If you have other
battery types connected to the UPS, remove them before connecting the EBC240.
The following instructions assume you have already removed the
EBC240s from the pallets according to the unloading instructions on the
outside of the shipping box.
To install the EBC240:
1.
Place the EBC240 near the operating site. The UPS should be well
ventilated and away from direct sunlight or other heat source.
NOTE It is recommended to allow a minimum of 4.5" of space from the rear of the charger
for proper ventilation.
2.
If you are using only one EBC240 and want increased stability or a
seismic installation, remove the mounting plates from the pallets
(see Figure 1). Otherwise, skip to Step 5 on page 20.
