When commissioning, protect the device from moisture and contamination.
■
These operating instructions contain information required during the life cycle of
■
the sensor.
Capacitive proximity sensors are suitable for detecting solid or liquid materials. This
includes all metals and non-metallic substances.
Application possibilities include:
- Injection molding machines, e.g. adhesives, plastic granulate
- Chemical industry, e.g. water preparation, acid and alkaline solutions, solvents
- Wood industry, e.g. wood, sawdust, paper
- Ceramics and glass industry, e.g. quartz sand, bottle monitoring
- Packaging industry, e.g. packages, fill level monitoring, animal feed, dairy products,
fruit and vegetables
The ability of capacitive proximity sensors to detect materials depends on the object's
density and electrical properties. The sensing range given for capacitive proximity sen‐
sors relates to a measuring plate of standardized steel (ST37). You can find additional
information about material reduction factors under "Technical Information".
If changes are made to the product, any warranty claim against SICK AG shall become
void.
The sensor features a potentiometer and a yellow LED display.
