DESCRIPTION
These are normally open wide angle float switches.
The NM15K has an 8' cord and a piggyback plug.
The NM17K includes a 21-1/2" cord and plugs
directly into the top of the motor cover on Model
Numbers 2962, 2963, 2990 and 2995.

GENERAL SAFETY
INFORMATION

is only for use on 115 volt (single phase) only.
Hazardous voltage. Can shock,
burn or kill. To reduce risk of electric shock:
• Pull the plug on the pump before replacing the
switch.
• Do not walk on a wet area until all the power
has been turned off. If the shut off box is
in basement, call the electric company or hydro
authority to shut off the service to the house, or
call your local fire department for instructions.
• Do not lift the pump by the power cord.
• Keep the motor and the switch dry.

potential hazards.

3. Release all pressure within system before servic-
ing any component.
4. Drain all water from the system before servicing.
5. Personal Safety:
a. Wear safety glasses at all times when working
with pumps.
b. Keep work area clean, uncluttered and prop-
erly lighted – replace all unused tools and
equipment.
c. Keep visitors at a safe distance from work
area.
d. Make workshop child-proof – with padlocks,
master switches, and by removing starter keys.
6. When wiring an electrical switch, follow all elec-
trical and safety codes that apply.
7. Protect the electrical cord from sharp objects, hot
surfaces, oil, and chemicals. Avoid kinking the
cord. Replace or repair damaged or worn cords
immediately.
8. Do not touch an operating motor. Modern motors
are designed to operate at high temperatures.
9. Do not handle switch or pump motor, or change
fuses with wet hands or when standing on wet or
damp surface, or in water.
10. Do not use in swimming pool areas.
INSTALLATION
Risk of electric shock. Can burn or
cause death. Unplug the pump before attempting to
work on pump, motor, or switch. Do not handle a
switch, pump, or motor with wet hands or while
standing on a wet or damp surface or in water.
NM15K
1. Disconnect the power to the pump.
Hazardous voltage. Can shock,
burn or kill.
2. With a screwdriver, loosen and remove the exist-
ing float switch cord clamp and remove the old
float switch. Refer to Figure 1.
