INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The X-Lite X-551 GT is the composite fibre full-face helmet designed for riders
of motard and street enduro motorbikes. It can be used with different configu-
rations (Fig. 1): with visor and peak, with visor only or with peak only. Using the
helmet in its full configuration obviously guarantees a higher level of protection
if compared with the other possible configurations.
•
PEAK
The peak can be assembled over the visor or, in absence of the latter, directly over
the visor side mechanisms.
The peak can also be adjusted in different positions by turning it upwards or dow-
nwards (Fig. 2).
WARNING
When riding on the road, the peak must be adjusted to the highest position "1"
(Fig. 2).
1
Peak Adjustment
1.1
Loosen the upper screw A and the side screws B of both sides by rotating
them counter clockwise (Fig. 2).
1.2
Adjust the height of the peak to the desired position.
1.3
Lock the peak in the desired position by tightening the upper screw A and the
side screws B of both sides in a clockwise direction (Fig. 2).
2
Peak Disassembly
2.1
Completely unscrew the upper screw A and the side screws B by rotating them
counter clockwise to disassemble the peak (Fig. 2).
N.B. Keep the upper screw A, its rubber washer - located between the peak
and the outer shell - and the side screws for possible reuse of the peak.
2.2
Every time you wish to use the helmet without the peak, insert the stoppers
into the holes of the upper screw A and both side screws B (Fig. 3).
3
Peak Assembly
To assemble the peak, first remove the above-mentioned stoppers (Fig. 3).
3.1
Place the rubber washer in line with the shell upper hole, then place the peak
on the shell and insert the upper screw A and the side screws B of both sides
into the corresponding holes.
3.2
Adjust the peak as previously described and tighten the upper screw A and the
side screws B of both sides completely by rotating them clockwise (Fig. 2).
WARNING
-
The peak can be assembled over the visor or, in absence of the latter, directly
over the visor side mechanisms.
-
When riding on the road, the peak must be adjusted to the highest position "1"
(Fig. 2).
-
Do not use the helmet if the stoppers or the peak have not been assembled
properly with the screws.
