The Belle Group 'BGA' Flexible Shaft Pumps are designed to give many years of trouble free operation. It is recommended that an
approved Belle Group dealer carries out all major maintenance and repairs. Always use genuine Belle Group Replacement Parts, the
use of spurious parts may void your Warranty.
Servicing
In the event of Inner Drive Shaft Failure the following procedure needs to be followed:-
1) Securely clamp the Outer Shaft of the Pump in a vice, as shown in Figure 1. Use the 'À ats' to secure.
2) Remove the whole Pump Assembly by turning Anti-Clockwise as shown by the red arrow in Figure 1.
This then allows the Pump Assembly to be drawn away from the Outer Shaft to allow easy access to the Inner Flexible Shaft.
3) Using a good pair of Molegrips or something similar, clamp the Inner Flexible Shaft as shown in Figure 2. With a 17mm Spanner
hold the Pump Shaft as shown in Figure 2 and unscrew Anti-Clockwise. The Pump can then be removed from both the Inner and
Outer Shaft.
4) If the Inner Shaft has broken in the middle, it may also be necessary to remove the Drive Dog from the opposite end of the
whole Shaft Assembly. This will allow the other broken section of the Inner Shaft to be removed.
To do this operation the Shaft Assembly needs to be secured as shown in Figure 3. Once the Shaft is secured the Drive Dog can
be removed.
Note!! - The Drive Dog has a left hand thread. See Figure 3.
5) Re¿ tting the Shafts is the reversal of the removal procedure.

Periodic Maintenance
After use, clean all the dirt from the Engine, Flexible Shaft and Pump and
tighten all Bolts to prevent Oil leakage.
The Pump and the Flexible Shaft can be disassembled at any moment, but
try to do that as part of the Maintenance as much as possible because
dirt or debris may get into the Pump and create problems.
Remove and clean the Air Filter.
Remove and clean the Spark Plug.
Check the Oil level and top up if necessary. If the engine is brand new,
change the Oil after 20 hours.
Remove the Bolts from the Pump and check the internal areas of the Pump.
Check the Seals and Propeller for signs of wear and replace if necessary.
Grease Pump and Flexible Shaft Bearings.
