Always secure the chainsaw during transport
so that it cannot move, cause injury or
damage property.
Check for fuel leaks during transport or
storage.
Always clean the chainsaw before storage.
Remember that the noise of the chainsaw
can prevent you from hearing warnings or
other sounds. Be aware of your surroundings
while using the chainsaw.
Safety directions for handling fuel
The engine uses a 1:40 oil/petrol mixture.
Never use pure leaded petrol, diesel or other
fuels. Mix only two-stroke oil for chain saws
into the petrol.
Mix the fuel in a suitable container. Ensure
the petrol and oil are well mixed before
fi lling.
Mix and add the fuel in a well-ventilated area.
Never refi ll the fuel or chain oil while the
engine is running or hot, as it may cause fi re
hazard. Always wait until it has cooled down.
Smoking and the use of a naked fl ame while
fuelling or using the chainsaw are forbidden.
Never refi ll with fuel in an enclosed space.
Always refi ll fuel outdoors.
Do not overfi ll fuel or chain oil, as this can
cause a risk of fi re.
Clean up any spilt fuel with a dry cloth after
refuelling.
Check that the fuel cover is tightly closed, as
fuel leaks can cause a fi re hazard.
After refi lling, the chainsaw must be started
at a distance of at least 3 metres from the fuel
container or refi lling location.
Fuel should be stored out of the reach of
children in a clearly marked and approved
container.
Safety directions for area of application
For outdoor use only.
The exhaust gases contain carbon monoxide
and hydrocarbons that are highly dangerous
to humans and animals if inhaled.
Never use in high winds or heavy rain or in
poor visibility.
Only use the chainsaw in daylight.
Never use the chainsaw when standing on
a ladder or similar and do not climb trees
whilst carrying the chainsaw, unless you are
specially trained to do so. Always ensure you
are standing fi rmly and safely on the ground.
Watch your footing when using the
chainsaw. Sawn branches on the ground
represent a safety risk if you trip over them
while sawing.
Plan what you are going to do before starting
work. Check that you and others will not be
hit by falling branches or similar.
The engine parts become hot when in use.
Avoid touching them and do not put the
chainsaw down on infl ammable materials
(dry grass, dry leaves etc.) whilst the engine
is hot.
Store fl ammable materials at a safe distance
from the engine, as the exhaust gases are
very hot and could ignite such materials.
