The HEXAPOD has a number of anchorage points (Fig. 7):
Anchorage point (a): Three aluminium anchorage rings located under the head of each tripod: two of them are used to attach return pulleys, while the
third ring allows the third person present for the operations to be hooked to the HEXAPOD and ensure a safe position.
Anchorage point (b): Plate with support handle, already fastened to each Tripod, for the installation of a Winch-type, EN 1496 Class A or class B rescue
device.
Anchorage point (c): The horizontal rail has 2 mobile anchorage carriers with one or more attachment points. They can be used to fasten the return
pulleys for inserting the cable of a winch or fall protection system.
Anchorage carriers enable the user's horizontal mobility up to a range of 2.30 m.
Additional anchorage point (d): can be added on a Tripod foot (see label provided for this purpose) via a fixing plate. This makes it possible to install a
self-retracting fall arrest system which includes an elevation rescue device (EN 360 + EN 1496 Class A).
Prolonged hanging in a harness following a fall can result in various after-effects (potentially fatal), which is why it is essential for the rescue operation
to be carried out as safely and as quickly as possible. A third party is required for rescue operations. As part of the rescue procedures performed by a
rescuer, there must be direct or indirect visual contact (or other means of communication) with the person rescued at all times during the rescue operation.

Specific cases: It is possible to use, on an ad-hoc basis, the tripod equipped with anchor (b) of the HEXAPOD alone, as temporary and transportable
anchor, intended to be used to allow access to confined spaces: tanks, silos, sewers, wells, etc.
In this case, the maximum diameter to access the confined space must be 1.62 m.
It complies with the European Regulation 2016/425 on PPE and in particular with Standard EN 795:2012 Type B, as well as Machinery Directive
2006/42/EC (formerly 98/37 EC) for lifting loads. It can then be used in combination with self-retracting fall arrest systems (EN 360), rescue devices
(EN 1496 class A or B) and/or suspension work devices.
It can be used in combination with suitable lifting equipment (such as winch, hoist, etc.). Maximum load applied to the foot of the Tripod: 250 kg
Maximum load applied under the tripod head: 500 kg
Thorough understanding of the HEXAPOD user manual will help you understand the possibilities of this specific configuration: the various anchorage
points, compatible accessories, precautions for use, verification and storage.
The connections between the systems attached to the different anchorage points and the user must be made via connectors (EN 362), and in the case of
load lifting by appropriate equipment (such as shackles) in accordance with the load based on the requirements of the Machinery Directive.
The HEXAPOD is a piece of personal protective equipment; while it must be assigned to a single user, it can be used by two persons at the same time
while third parties are present for descend/ascend or rescue operations.
User safety relies on the ongoing effectiveness of the equipment and full understanding of the safety instructions contained in this leaflet.
The legibility of the product's markings must be checked regularly.
The HEXAPOD must be positioned above the user. Ensure that the general set-up limits swinging in the event of a fall, and that the work is performed
to limit the risk and the height of a fall. It is important to check the free space under the user's feet depending on the system used.
Before and during use, we recommend that you make the necessary arrangements for a safe rescue, should this be required.
This equipment must only be used by trained, competent and healthy persons or under the supervision of a trained and competent person. Warning!
Certain medical conditions may affect user safety; if in doubt, consult your doctor.
Be aware of the hazards that could reduce the performance of your equipment and, therefore, the safety of the user in the case of: exposure to extreme
temperatures (< -30°C or > +50°C); prolonged exposure to the elements (UV rays, humidity) or to chemical products; electrical constraints; the fall
protection system becoming twisted when in use; or sharp edges, friction, cuts, etc.
Before each use, check: The opening of the feet of the two tripods, the condition of the rubber pads under the feet (they ensure stability and guarantee the
grip on the ground). Check the condition of the straps and tubes (no deformation), make sure the ball and safety pins are in place and working properly.
Check the plate (no deformation or corrosion marks), the steel rail (no deformation or corrosion marks) and
the mobile anchors (functioning properly,
no deformation or corrosion marks). Otherwise, or if in doubt, the HEXAPOD should no longer be used and should be marked "Out of service" to avoid
any risk of use by another user (see "VERIFICATION" section).
Do not remove, add or replace any component of the product.
Chemicals: do not use the device if it should come into contact with chemicals, solvents or fuels that could affect the operation of the HEXAPOD and
therefore its effectiveness during use.

KRATOS SAFETY certifies that the HEXAPOD has been tested in accordance with standard EN 795:2012 Type B and TS 16415:2013 Type B (use
by two persons).
COMPATIBILITY FOR USE:
The device is for use with a fall arrest system as defined in the product data sheet (see standard EN 363) to guarantee that the dynamic force exerted on
the user during the arrest of a fall is no greater than 6 kN. A fall arrest harness (EN 361) is the only body-gripping device that may be used. It can be
dangerous to create one's own fall protection system in which each safety function can interfere with another safety function. Therefore, it is important
to read the recommendations on using each component in the system before use.
INSPECTION:
While the recommended service life of the product is unlimited (in accordance with the annual examination by a competent person authorised by
KRATOS SAFETY), it may be reduced according to use and/or the results of the annual inspections.
The equipment must be systematically checked if in doubt or after a fall, and at least every twelve months by the manufacturer or a competent person*, in
strict compliance with the manufacturer's periodic examination procedures (notably Inspection Guides ref. GI XXXXXXXX-XX), in order to ensure its
condition and therefore the safety of the user. The results of the periodic inspection must be recorded on the ENTECH01 inspection report (downloadable
from our website). We recommend that routine inspections are documented using an inspection report and photographs.
The product identification sheet should be completed (in writing) after each verification. The date of inspection and date of the next inspection must be
indicated on the identification sheet. It is also recommended to put the date of the next inspection on the product.
