2. Instrument Description

SK1/1 chromed
This particular model is the original NOVAFON® sonic wave instrument in its
earliest form. It operates using sound waves or vibrations produced by apply-
ing an electrical current to magnetic trip coils. The resulting sonic waves are
applied vertically to the body. The SK1/1 model comes equipped with a single
switch setting producing 120 vibrations per second.
SK2/2 chromed
This model is a further development of the type SK1/1. This model comes
equipped with a dual switch setting. It includes:
Setting 1 : 100 – 120 vibrations per second
Setting 2: 50 – 60 vibrations per second
Using Setting 2 the operator is able to perform with ease aprecisely applied
pummelling massage and acupressure treatment. This drumming effect can be
used each time treatment is given provided there is no discomfort involved. The
retractable, extendable handle ensures that even the most difficult areas of
the body, like shoulders, back, back of the neck etc., can be reached with ease.
SK1/1 plastic
Made of plastic, the SK1/1 model was devised for cosmetic purposes. It too
works using sound waves, however, with a reduced penetrative effect. Similar
to the chromed-plated SK1/1 model, this version has only one setting ,vibrating
120 times per second and is not equipped with an extendable handle. Each
model comes complete with two interchangeable fittings: a sonic plate and a
sonic ball. Your original NOVAFON® instrument is fitted with a thermal pro-
tection device which, in case of overheating, switches off the appliance thus
preventing damage.

3. Operating Instructions

Initial Operation

Insert the plug into a power point with the corresponding electrical current
as specified above. Ensure that the power cable is not stretched beyond the
advised 1.5 metres otherwise there is a risk of breakage. Use an extension lead
if necessary.
SK1 model
Turn off: OFF
Turn on: ON
SK 2 model (with percussion mode)
middle setting: OFF
