Attention! Memory cards should be inserted and removed while the screen is off. Otherwise the fi les saved on the card or the card
itself may suffer irreversible damage.
Connection of the screen to a computer (exclusively in the model equipped with a memory cards slot)
Using a USB cable, it is possible to connect the screen to a computer and use it as a memory reader.
Connect one plug of the cable to the USB socket of the screen, and the other to the USB socket of the computer. Turn on the
screen and the computer. The screen should be found as a mass memory device, and data will be read from the memory card.
During the connection to a computer, the screen solely displays the symbol „MSDC".
Charging of batteries
If the screen displays the battery symbol or the device does not start, the integrated battery may be discharged. The videoscope
and the screen are equipped with mutually independent effi cient lithium polymer batteries. The memory effect of the batteries is
reduced to a minimum, which permits recharging them at almost any time. It is recommended however to discharge the battery
during normal operation after a dozen or so cycles, and then charge it. The device is equipped with a power pack, which permits
to charge batteries, and thanks to a power split cable it is possible to charge both batteries simultaneously. Connect the power
pack plug to the power socket marked as „DC 5.5V"; next to the socket there is a LED, which is lit red during charging. The end
of the charging process is signalled by the diode turning green. The device should be disconnected from the power pack as soon
as possible after the end of the charging process.
Handling of the battery
In order to prolong the life of the battery, it must be stored in adequate conditions. The battery provides approximately 500 charge-
discharge cycles. The battery should be stored within the temperature range between 0 and 30°C, at a relative air humidity of
50%. In case the battery is to be stored for an extended period of time, it must be charged completely. During storage the battery
spontaneously discharges, and the rate of this process depends on the storage temperature – the higher the temperature, the
faster the process. In case of inappropriate storage of the batteries, the electrolyte may leak. In case of a leakage, it must be re-
moved with a neutralizer. In case of a contact of the electrolyte with the eyes, rinse them thoroughly with water and then search for
medical assistance immediately. It is prohibited to operate a device with a damaged battery. In case the battery is completely
worn out, it must be sent to a special utilization company for this kind of waste.
Turning the device on and off
Remove the rubber cap protecting the camera (IV).
Turn the videoscope on, holding the switch pressed for approximately 3 sec., until the green diode to the left of the switch goes on.
During operation the diode goes on and off, which is a normal situation indicating the videoscope is on. The number of fl ashes of
the diode indicates the number of the channel, which has been selected to communicate with the screen in the remote operation
mode.
In order to turn the videoscope off, hold the switch pressed for approximately 3 sec., until the green diode to the left of the switch
goes on, and then release the switch. The red diode to the right of the switch will go on for a short while and the videoscope will
turn off.
Turn the screen on holding the switch pressed for approximately 3 sec. Do the same to turn the screen off.
The device automatically adapts to the brightness of the surroundings. In case of an abrupt change of the lighting of a scene,
wait until the sensor of the camera readjusts the sensitivity of the camera. It may happen however that the brightness of a scene
exceeds the sensitivity range of the camera. In such a case try to increase or decrease the intensity of the lighting of the scene.
The camera is equipped with two white LEDs. They are turned on with the „+" button of the videoscope, until the required intensity
of lighting is obtained. The „-" button reduces the light intensity, until it turns off. In order to save the battery, it is recommended to
use the lighting diodes solely when it is necessary.
Do not direct the light beam towards the eyes.
The factory setting of the focusing distance of the camera is 50 mm. This means that the best sharpness of the picture is provided
when the object is at the distance of 50 mm from the lens of the camera. In case of an inferior or a superior distance, the sharpness
of the picture is considerably impaired, which is a normal phenomenon.
Operation of the screen
Below the screen there are buttons whose purpose is to operate the screen.
Attention! Depending on the version of the videoscope, the screens vary as regards the number and location of the buttons.
– recording of the photograph of the current picture from the camera (movement to the left in the menu)
– turning of the picture in the screen (movement upwards in the menu)
– the menu is turned on (confi rmation of the selection in the menu)
– amplifi cation of the picture (movement downwards in the menu)
– start/end of recording of a video sequence (movement to the right in the menu)
– change of the transmission channel of the screen
