1. Loose fascia and remove panel door – Using T15 torxbit, remove (2) screws from bottom panel door. Remove the panel door and return it along with
screws to owner. Using flat head screwdriver and T15 torxbit, remove (2) rivets from bottom center fascia and (1) screw from each side of fascia. Keep for
reinstallation.
2. Drill & enlarge holes – Raise the hitch into position and align it with forward attachment holes. Use marker to mark a drill point at driver side rearward hole
center of the hitch bracket. Make sure the hitch sits straight with location marked. Lower the hitch down and use hand drill to drill a 1/2'' hole for the driver
side rear attachment hole. Using the same hand drill enlarge the passenger side rear attachment hole to 1/2".
3. Install hitch - Feed the carriage bolts ① and spacers ② to attachment holes through access holes using the pull wires ⑤, see Figures 1 & 2. Leave pull
wires attached. Gently pull the fascia and raise the hitch into position and feed the pull wires through bracket holes. Remove pull wires and loosely install
conical washers ③ and hex nuts ④ to the hitch.
4. Tighten all 7/16"-14x1.50 Gr5 fasteners with torque wrench to 50 ft.lb. (68 N*m).
5. Reinstall rivets and screws removed in step 1.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust
fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or
attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and
SAE J684.
