Risk of injuries.
ÂWhen using the tool, incorrectly fitted
parts can lead to severe injuries up to
and including death.
ÂThis tool can only be operated, if all parts
are fully fitted and tightened and there
are no damaged parts!
¾ Therefore first read the entire chapter,
before fitting the parts.
¾ Fit the parts carefully and completely.
¾ Use tools as specified.

¾ Parts may only be fitted and removed
when the motor is switched off and the
power pack removed.
Sharp cutting chain. Tool still running!
¾ Before carrying out any work on the tool,
remove the power pack.
¾ Wear safety gloves before any work on
the chain.

ÂAn incorrectly fitted cutting chain will
result in erratic cutting behaviour of the
tool.
¾ Fit the chain so that it rotates in the indi-
cated direction of rotation.

Loosen the locking screw A 1 and remove the

cover A 2 .
Position the cutting bar with the longitudinal hole
Î
on the threaded bar A 3 .
Note
Ensure that the chain tensioning plate points
forwards C [1].

Note
Check for correct seating of the guide screw
on the rear side of the cutting bar in the
guiding groove B [1].
Note
Make sure the guide bolt is properly inserted
in the slot of the cutting bar B [3].
Push the cutting bar as chose as possible to the

sprocket.
Place the chain around the cutting bar and drive
Î
sprocket A 4 .
Note
Ensure the chain moves in the correct
direction B [2].
Check the position of the cutting bar and chain on
Î
the tool C .
Insert the tab of the cover D [1] into the
Î
slot D [2].
Put on the cover D 2 .
Î
Tighten the cover with the locking screw E 1 .

Tensioning the saw chain F G
Note
The saw chain must not sag. However, it
should be possible to pull it about 1–2 milli-
metres away from the cutting bar F.
Pull out the fixing screw F [1] until you are able to

turn the adjusting wheel F [2] F 1 .
Turn the adjusting wheel F [2] clockwise to ten-
Î
sion the chain or anticlockwise to slacken it F 2.
During the tensioning operation, pull the cutting
Î
bar upwards at the tip.
Re-apply the fixing screws F 3 .
Î
Check the chain tension once more and that the
Î
saw chain is positioned correctly on the cutting
bar.
Note
During running in of a new chain, it should
be re-tensioned after no more than five cuts.
