SPOUT INSTALLATION
CAUTION: Risk of internal seal damage. Do not use
petroleum-based lubricants. If spout will not slide over tubing,
use soapy water or a silicone-based lubricant.
CAUTION: Risk of internal seal damage. Loosen spout
setscrew with a 5/32" hex wrench prior to installing the spout.
For slip-fit spouts, cut 1/2" copper tube(16) to extend between
1-1/2" (3.8cm) and 2-7/8" (7.3cm) beyond finished wall.
Loosen spout setscrew(17) with a 5/32" hex wrench(18).
Place a bead of plumbers putty or other sealant around inlet end
of spout according to the putty manufacturer's instructions.
Install the spout and carefully retighten the setscrew.
NOTE: Do not overtighten the setscrew.
For threaded spouts, remove temporary nipple. Install 1/2"
N.P.T. nipple(19) for standard spout to extend 3-7/8" (9.8cm)
beyond finished wall, and 7" (17.8cm) for large spout.
Apply thread sealant to the nipple threads. Place a bead of
plumbers putty or other sealant around inlet end of spout
according to the putty manufacturer's instructions and carefully
tighten with a clean strap wrench. Remove excess putty or
sealant.
SHOWERHEAD INSTALLATION
CAUTION: Risk of product damage. To avoid plugging
the showerhead spray outlets, use thread sealant tape. Do
not use thread sealant (pipe dope).
Slip(6) wall flange over shower arm(7). Place thread sealant tape
on shower arm threads. Thread shower arm into elbow(13).
Tighten with a clean strap wrench.
Flush out system with showerhead(8) removed. Place thread
sealant tape on other end of shower arm and tighten
showerhead to shower arm.
