Loss of explosion protection due to a damaged enclosure. Damage to the
enclosure and/or seals may cause leakage.
• Ensure that the cover cannot fall off when opening and detaching the
enclosure.
• Use the appropriate transport packaging during every transport operation
to avoid damage to the enclosure.
• Always transport larger and/or heavier enclosures with a suitable
transportation device, or with the help of a second person.
• Always store the enclosure in its original packaging, and only in dry
surroundings.

Intended use

Assembled terminal enclosures are intended for the connection of
low-voltage circuits and the distribution of signals with the Ex e degree of
protection or Ex i intrinsically safe signals. Enclosures may only be used
as intended in accordance with the stated technical data (see type plate).
The assembled enclosures of the Klippon
for fixed installation in explosive risk zones in accordance with their
specification.
The empty enclosures of the Klippon
holding approved components and/or devices. An enclosure assembled
so that it is ready to use must be tested and certified by a certified body.
To ensure safe use of the enclosures, also observe the following notes:
• Only use Weidmüller products for installations so as not to jeopardise
the certification.
• Holes must only be drilled into the enclosure cover for Weidmüller
fixing sets.
• Observe the technical information (operating instructions and certificates)
of the installed components and cable glands.
• All installed cable inlets, terminals, sealing plugs and ventilation
equipment must satisfy the temperature and IP protection requirements
stated on the enclosure's type plate.
• All cables and lines used must be suitable for the specified temperature
class.
• 60 V and 1 A are the maximum permissible voltage and current values
for Ex i applications
• Ensure that the terminal rails' mounting screws are not built over.
• Create cross-connections using Weidmüller cross-connectors only.
Observe the relevant requirements such as reduced voltage, reduced
clearance and creepage distances, etc., in the associated documentation
