6.2 Connection via GPRS
Using a GPRS gateway, you can connect Chaff olink to the internet via the
following procedure
1.
Power up the gateway. Press the ON/OFF button.
For several minutes the gateway performs its startup procedure, during
which all the LEDs fl ash in sequence in blue.
2. Once the startup procedure is complete, the WEB LED will display
information on the GPRS signal strength:
a. Stable blue → maximum intensity
b. Flashing blue → medium intensity
c. Flashing red → low intensity
d. Stable red → no fi eld
We recommend that you position the gateway so that, during this set up
phase, it will always display a blue light. Alternatively you can connect the
gateway to external aerial kit (code 3318892).
3. Press and hold the initial confi guration button for 5 seconds until the WEB
LED begins to fl ash green.
4. If the procedure has been successful, the Internet connection WEB LED
remains stable green.
At this point you have completed the procedure.
Note: in the event of failure, repeat the procedure described above from
point 3.
NOTE:
Perform the connection procedure to internet services only after connecting
the BridgeNet BUS.
If you try to start the procedures with the BridgeNet BUS disconnected, the
WEB LED fl ashes green and the procedure will not be fi nalised.
7. ENABLING INTERNET SERVICES
7.1
Chaff oteaux Service Centres
Chaff oteaux Service Centres can access the Remote Diagnostics platform by
entering their credentials on the Chaff olink Portal.
